Abhayngam Therapy
Ayurveda has a body refreshing massage with unique features, which is called Abhyangam. It will take some time to finish Abhyangam & certain patience is needed to those who undergo Abhyangam. It’s a complete body massage and really effective.
Medicated oil is applied on the body and massage is given with knowledge of marma points. It is said that Abhyangam Acharet nityam it is suggested for daily practice.
Swedana Therapy
The word Sweda is derived from Sanskrit swid, meaning ‘to sweat or to perspire’. So swedana is the process of inducing sweat with the help of steam, generated from medicated herbal decoctions.
Vaman Therapy
In this therapy medicated oil massage, Medicated steem bath along with Cow Ghee intake in daily increasing dose is given, finally after judgment of Vaidy / Dr Medicines are given to induce vomiting continued with Kashaya / Milk. This Urdhva shodhana is usefull in treatment of Diseases with Kapha dosha dominance. For example - Skine diseases, Asthma, Hyper acidity, It is used to induce vomiting in the person to get rid of the vitiated dodhas specially Kapha. Toxines are eliminated through the upper gastrointestinal tract through the mouth. Vamana treatment is given to the eligible candidates only. Vamana is helpful in Cough, Heart burns, Asthma, Anorexia, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Anaemia, Obesity, Goiter, Urticaria etc.
Virechana Therapy
Virechana is the administration of purgative substances for the cleansing of pitta through the lower pathways. Give virechana 3 days after vamana. If vamana is not indicated for a particular individual, then give virechana. In either case, it is necessary to first do 3 days of internal oleation, and preferably both snehana and svedana.
Its mainly Shodhan treatment of Pitta dosha. Its very useful in treatment of Diseases due to pitta dominance,
Basti Therapy
It is administered through anus into the intestine for the treatment of especially vata dosha
It is said that its half of the Ayurveda treatment in general, it means its very very important therapy. It could be suggested to childrens, Aged people and even to pregnant femals, the only precaution is to use mild medicinal plant products when the patient is weak.

Nasya Therapy
Highly effective for all kinds of headaches, paralysis, depression, stress, neck pain, shoulders, eye diseases etc.
” Nasya therapy is a process wherein the medicine is administered through the nostrils. it is said that Nasa hi shirso dwaram this has a direct influence on the functioning of brain.
Raktamokshan Therapy
This is a technique of blood letting, in which Rakta with dosha is removed in therapeutic quantity.
This is done in various ways
- 1. Siravedha - Venous Blood letting. This technique is useful when the disease is spread in larger part of body,
- 2. Jalaukavaachan - Leach therapy - for safe and effective blood letting
- 3. Pracchan - For localised disease as well as in snake bits,
It helps in clearing the dosha residing in the deep tissue & is the best solution for Rakta shuddhi.
Two methods are used for raktamokshan therapy. They are
- Siravedh – in which blood is drawn upto 30 to 100 ml with the help of intracath from a vein. It is applied in the systemic or generalised disease.
- Jaloukavcharan – in which blood is drawn with the help of leeches to cure localised diseases or pain.
Raktamokshan cures skin diseases, headaches, acute pain at localised sites, psoriasis, gout, Leucoderma, Depigmentation, Haemorrhoids, Pruritis, Spleen disorders, Mouth ulcers etc.

Netra basti Therapy
The phrase Akshitarpana is from Sanskrit where Akshi refers Netra=eyes and tarpana stands for nourishment basti= retaining something inside. This procedure is popularly called as kriyakalpa for eye diseases in Ayurveda.
The medicated ghee is poured over the eyelids in an enclosure built around the eye out of wheat flour. It is said to be an excellent treatment to improve vision and clarity of the mind.
Janu basti Therapy
The knee joint is called Janu Sandhi in Sanskrit; hence the name Janu Basti is given to the procedure done on knee joints. In this the knee joint is bathed with warm medicated oil or freshly prepared herbal decoction. Depending on the condition it can be practiced over both the knee joints or on one knee joint.So the janu vasti is specialized treatment of knee which rejuvenate the knee.
Dhupan Therapy
This is a treatment with smoke of medicinal plants either through nose or externally on the affected body part

Dhupan karma is one of the classical ancient remedy of sterilization to maintain healthy biological environment. It is essential to maintain good asepsis to do various karmas. Kashyap Samhita have mentioned 40 dhupan yoga in dhup kalapadhyay; Sushrutacharya mentioned dhupan karma of Shalya karma mandir in Vranitopasaniya adhyay , while Charakacharya mentioned dhupan of vastras and vranitagar in Jatasutriya sharir adhyay .

Hridaya basti Therapy
This is also called as Urobasti. So Hrid Basti is an oil bath on the heart area.

Navarakizhi
Also called Shashtika Shali Pinda Sweda, is a specific sudation therapy, in which a special type of rice previously cooked with herbs as well as milk is tied into boluses. The same are dipped into an herbal decoction and warm milk, to be skillfully rubbed all over the body after the Abhyanga massage.
